“The colorism out here is crazy,” according to Singer and Actress Coco Jones.

The child star mostly known for her role as Roxy from the hit disney film “Let it Shine” took to Youtube to share her story of what happened to her career post disney channel.

Jones revealed surprising secrets such as a “Let it Shine 2” supposed to happen, but never did. She also revealed how she was sold a dream of having her own show on Disney channel, but that did not happen either.

“I’m not tryna sell my soul for this,” she said. Coco Jones’ story showed that there are many different obstacles dark skinned black women are faced within the Industry and how opportunities for them seem very unlikely to get.

“You saw what happened for all the other girls, who were right beside me, some of the girls y’all stan we was all in the same rooms, trying out for the same things,” she said.

The colorism that Jones had to endure proved that the battle is still being fought for dark skin women to carve their own path in the industry and get their time to shine.
