It all started when…
Make good music and give back, according to singer, song writer and producer Isaac Ezemba also known as E Maejor as he told his current journey of being an artist on the rise and a student at Clark Atlanta University.
The Memphis born and Milwaukee raised artist has created a path for himself that consisted of being true to the music and to himself. The inspiration to get serious about his music sparked through being surrounded by musically inclined friends back in his hometown. “With my refund check I bought all my equipment, and that is when I knew I had to get serious,” he said.
Through the humble beginnings of his home-made studio the drive and thirst to create great music grew stronger and stronger. His first song that dropped on soundcloud called “A Chance” that premiered four years ago sparked a flame within him and that is when he knew this was something he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
With his biggest inspirations being Static Major, Trey Songz and Bryson Tiller: E Maejor shows that he is rooted in soulful music. There is a great amount of care within his music when it comes to melodies, instruments and background vocals. His debut album “Always Make Love Happen” showed just how much care that he put into his music with endless melodies, spoken word and soulful lyrics.
“Releasing that was everything, but at the same time I was very scared because it was based on true event,” he said. The album told a story of the ups and downs of love which made the music extremely personal and relatable. “I wanted the world to feel my pain and hear where I’m coming from,” he said.
He expressed his values of being able to write music and being able to evoke emotion through his music. His lead single “No B.S.” showed exactly what it means to evoke emotions through music and lyrics that can create a memorable impact for listeners.
With his dream collaborations ranging from artists within the Atlanta University Center to Bryson Tiller, E Maejor is open to being able to show his gifts to the world with whoever is willing to take a chance. The multidimensional artist wants to show the world that he able to work in different spaces such as writing, producing and singing.
Along with being a successful artist, E Maejor has goals of being stable, receive BMI awards, his own studio in Milwaukee and continue to give back and uplift his community. “I just want to make sure when people hear my music, they feel a connection,” he said. E Maejor continues to walk the path of humility and humbleness through his musical journey as he makes it his mission to show the world the importance in dreams and to never give up.
