It all started when…
The writing of the movie had great intentions for the audience when understanding what it means to understand and have a person’s back. Throughout the movie there were so many metaphorical moments that made you sit back and reflect on things that can be happening in your own life.
The entire aesthetic of the film was very tasteful and classic on the big screen which is what was eye grabbing within the film. Throughout the different scenes it was apparent that the videographers knew exactly what to show at what time, the timing was perfect within every aspect of the film whether it was angles, colors, scene structure, etc. The classic feeling of Queen and slim helped to create that timeless feeling.
Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith embodied the characters in a courageous and beautiful way that made the audience feel as if they were on the journey with them. Their performance was extremely raw and real within the film and made people feel something throughout their story.
Throughout the film, the major message that can be taken away from the film is that Love is what really holds people together. No matter the circumstances of what's happening it is important to know that love will always win over evil. The movie showed how love within people and a community is important to stick together and value each other.
